Selena Gomez is now a millionaire, according to a Bloomberg article.
Her estimated net worth is $1.3 billion, positioning her as one of the youngest women in the country with a 10-figure fortune. The journal reports that the success of her Rare Beauty beauty and cosmetics line, which debuted in 2019, accounts for a “vast bulk” of her net worth.
Before beginning her singing career, Gomez, 32, started acting as a youngster and starred in the Hulu blockbuster series “Only Murders in the Building,” which recently received a fifth-season extension. Jacques Audiard’s Cannes-winning musical drama “Emilia Perez,” set to release in select cinemas on November 1 and available for streaming on Netflix on November 13, will also feature Gomez.
Despite her increasing TV visibility in recent years, Gomez has released two new songs through her company Interscope Records, “Love On” in February and “Single Soon” in 2023, and has been teasing a new album. Her song “Calm Down,” which she co-wrote with Afrobeats singer Rema and received triple platinum certification from the RIAA, spent the majority of 2023 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Bloomberg study also highlights Gomez’s social media influence and mental health brand, in addition to her brand partnerships and endorsements. According to the newspaper, the “wealth analysis [of Selena Gomez] accounted for the estimated value of her stake in Rare Beauty, her interest in Wondermind, the estimated value of her music album sales and properties, and earnings from streaming deals, brand partnerships, concert tickets, and acting.”
A spokesperson for Gomez did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment.
Gomez’s next project will be to executive produce and appear in the upcoming Disney+ revival of the Disney Channel sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which she began as a teenager. The sequel series, now titled “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” will air on the network on October 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
