A little old woman with dazzling white locks and a lovely smile took the stage for “Ireland’s Got Talent” in 2018. This was Evelyn Williams, an 81-year-old widow from Ireland who had not allowed her age to prevent her from pursuing her goal of singing.

She told the judges that music had always been an important part of her life, a love she now shares with her granddaughter. Despite having lost her husband, Evelyn found joy and consolation in being surrounded by her grandkids and great-grandchildren.

When Evelyn started singing “Send in the Clowns,” her change was amazing. She appeared frightened and weak at first, but as she began singing, she transformed into a genuine diva, her voice filling the audience.

Within seconds, the judges were obviously touched, with tears welling up in their eyes. As she finished, the entire crowd applauded, and the judges rose to their feet for a standing ovation. To her amazement, one of the judges pressed the golden buzzer, advancing Evelyn to the semifinals!
