When Scott and Jackie Nelson first met Coconut the horse, they couldn’t believe she was from Melbourne, Florida.
Her uniqueness has captivated over three million people, a testament to the fact that the world had to photograph her at the tender age of two days.
When she was two years old, the couple, who manage Down Under Color Ranch and breed horses, walked her outside for the first time on video.
According to a YouTube description, Coconut is also known as a War Horse and has extremely unique markings. Native American culture highly valued the chief or medicine man, a traditional and spiritual leader, who would ride this horse. To be considered a war horse, they must have one blue eye with a liner encircling it, as well as a shield on their chest.
In Indian mythology, this eye is known as the Sky Eye. This single blue sky eye is responsible for sending the spirits of the Chief and Medicine Man to their respective gods in the event of their death. That explains why she’s so special. Watch Coconut in the video below.
