Girl asks Grandmother to teach her to knit. When she found out what that request was for, she couldn’t hold back her tears…

A grandmother is overjoyed with her granddaughter after teaching her how to knit, and the child uses her newfound skill to help others. But the story doesn’t end there; the little girl receives an unexpected reward for her generous gesture, and it’s only the beginning of a magnificent adventure for TWO little ladies!

Alice Johnson, 12, was up in a humble environment with her parents, Sheila and Ronald, who worked hard to care for her. They owned a modest bakery that was doing well due to Sheila’s secret recipes, which set their shop apart from the competition.

However, because Sheila and Ronald were working parents who understood how crucial it was to keep their companies operating so that Alice would not miss out on anything, they were unable to give her adequate time.

During her school breaks, Alice spent all of her time at her grandmother Edith’s house, and the elderly woman enjoyed having Alice around. They would plant fruits and vegetables in Edith’s miniature garden in her backyard, bake cookies together, and cook Alice’s favorite mushroom soup. Overall, they had a wonderful time together.

Edith and Alice both enjoyed the limited time they spent together during the young girl’s holidays. Gran Edith was such a bundle of delight that Alice wouldn’t give for anything! Alice was thrilled to learn her grandmother’s amazing knitting and crocheting skills on a visit to Edith.

“Gran!” Alice told Edith enthusiastically one day. “I want to learn how to knit, too! You always produce beautiful scarves for me! I’d want to build one for you, too!”

Edith grinned. “Oh, is that true? “Do you like my knitted scarves, Alice?”

Of course I do, Gran! Oh, please! I want to learn how to knit! “Please, Gran!!!”

“That’s all right! You’ve seen my bedside drawer, correct? Edith inquired, smiling. ” When you open it, you’ll see a box. Hurry up and get it; I’ll teach you how to knit, okay?

“Yay! “You are the best, Gran!” Alice chirped as she dashed over to Edith’s room, returning with the box she’d asked for.

Alice’s eyes remained focused as Edith opened the package, revealing its contents. She showed her the many colors of yarn, knitting needles, and the basic equipment she used to make knitting easy. She also showed Alice several knitting prototypes she had done before for the final item.

Alice was delighted to begin knitting.

Alice was eager to learn how to knit, so Edith began teaching her every evening for two hours. To Edith’s astonishment, Alice learned quickly, and within two weeks, she had completed her first knitted piece, a bowed headband.

Edith was really impressed by Alice’s dedication to her knitting courses. When she walked into Alice’s room one night to kiss her goodbye, she saw she was sleeping, snuggling her half-knit sweater.

Regardless of its size, one should always respect a skill.

Edith couldn’t stop smiling at Alice’s innocence. Oh, dear! “She really loves it!” she thought as she discreetly removed the knitted piece from Alice’s grasp and placed it on her bedside table. She then kissed her cheek, murmured goodnight, and left the room.

Alice finished her first knitted sweater in a few days, and it turned out perfectly. Edith couldn’t believe Alice had done it when she showed it to her.

“It’s absolutely lovely, darling!” Edith complimented her. “I am so proud of you.”

But Alice scowled. “Thank you, Gran!” I hope I can stay with you longer, so you can show me how to knit scarves!”Can I just skip school for a few days?” She inquired innocently.

Alice’s vacation was drawing to an end, and she would leave Edith’s house the next day. Due to time restrictions, Edith was only able to teach her how to knit headbands and sweaters, despite her ability to learn quickly. The small girl wanted to learn more, but her vacation was cut short, which made her unhappy.

Edith realized Alice was disturbed about it and consoled her. “I will teach it to you the next time, Alice!” I promise! … Skipping class is not a smart idea, honey.”

“But, Gran, I don’t want to leave! Please tell Mom and Dad that I will be a lovely girl and never bother them. I’ll do anything, Gran! I want to remain with you a bit longer! PLEASE!”

“Darling, you are welcome to come here whenever you wish. Okay, I’ll ask Ronald to bring you here this weekend. But, for the time being, you should go ahead and start packing.” Daddy will be there early in the morning to pick you up.”

“That’s fine, Gran… As you said,” Alice said regretfully as she returned to her room and began collecting her belongings.

Ronald arrived at Edith’s residence the next morning to pick up Alice. Alice went with a grimace, and Edith was heartbroken to see her so miserable. She was also afraid to leave because she missed her so much. And so, a few days later, Edith decided to surprise Alice by picking her up from school, unable to resist her desire to see her.

She informed Ronald and Sheila, and she arrived at Alice’s school on time. When the dismissal bell rang, a throng of pupils streamed out of the school. Edith was waiting for Alice to emerge when she noticed something unusual: a girl was wearing the sweater Alice had made. She knew it because it featured the little flower arrangement she’d taught Alice.

Soon later, she observed Alice approaching the girl.

“She is like an angel in disguise for us.”
“Alice!” Edith waved her hand and shouted out to her.

Alice was overjoyed to see Edith and rushed up to her with the other girl. “GRAN!” she sobbed and hugged her. “Wow, I had no clue you’d pick me up today! Gran, meet my pal Cynthia! I made her a sweater! Cynthia,” she informed the girl. “This is Gran Edith. She taught me how to knit. Remember when I told you about her?

Hello, ma’am. Cynthia, Alice’s companion, introduced herself, and the elder woman reddened nervously.

“Nice to meet you, honey, and yes, you may call me Gran Edith too.”

Edith asked Cynthia if she could drop her off, and Cynthia said she lived close and would walk home. After Edith assured her it would be fine, Cynthia agreed.

During the vehicle trip, Edith inquired about Cynthia’s parents and discovered that her family was struggling financially. Her parents were daily wage laborers, and she was attending school on a scholarship.

When Edith got to Cynthia’s residence, the girl invited her to meet her parents. When Edith stepped into the house, she felt guilty about the terrible living circumstances and was shocked to discover Cynthia’s parents wearing matching knitted jumpers.

The pair gave Edith some tea and biscuits, and during their conversation, they confessed that the sweaters were presents from Alice. They expressed gratitude to her because they were on a limited budget that month and needed warm garments but couldn’t buy them.

Cynthia’s mother informed Edith, “She is like an angel in disguise for us,” while the girls played in Cynthia’s room. “We’d been longing to meet and thank her parents. We are extremely delighted to have met you today.”

Alice also made sweaters for Cynthia’s parents.

Edith was pleased to see her granddaughter assisting a poor family. When they left Cynthia’s house that day, she embraced Alice warmly and whispered, “Do you realize how proud I am of you, honey? You did an excellent job of assisting Alice and her parents.”

“Thanks, Gran. “But…” she paused. “I’m not sure that’s enough for them, Gran…” Alice does not receive pocket money, and her parents do not take her to amusement places as my mother and father do. Her parents are quite impoverished, and she claims that her scholarship does not fully finance her education. She may drop out of school shortly. “Is there nothing we can do to help her?”

“Oh dear,” Edith mourned. “That’s not good…” “We should do something…”

That night, Edith couldn’t stop thinking about Cynthia and her family. The notion of a young girl having to sacrifice her education worried her, so she resolved to gather a large sum of cash to assist Cynthia’s family.

She recruited Ronald and Sheila’s assistance and established a GoFundMe account for Cynthia’s family. She also started producing and selling sweaters and hats to make money.

On weekends, Alice offered to assist Edith, and they quickly gained popularity in their area for their handcrafted things.
