Liam Neeson opens up about his recent appearance on The View and admits that the whole show left him feeling uncomfortable…

The 70-year-old actor came on the chat program last week to promote his 100th picture, Marlowe, but says the treatment he received was ultimately ’embarrassing’.

It all started when the episode focused on the candle that co-host Joy Behar, 80, keeps for the actor.

This includes a reflection on things she made on-air, such as her statement, “I would just like to have my ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson.”

“Joy wants to get taken by you,” said one of the co-hosts, prompting her to paraphrase Neeson’s famous line: “I will find you and kill you.”
While the audience laughed, Neeson did not find the statement humorous.

Following the interview, the Taken star told Rolling Stone: “I was in the dressing room having tea, turning on the TV, and thinking, Oh, this would be wonderful. They are discussing gun violence in America, and I believe that it is an American issue.

“I went onstage and joined the women during the break, praising them for their conversation.

“And then our section begins, with all this nonsense about Joy and Liam Neeson having a crush.” I have known Whoopi for years and Joy for a short period of time; however, I was not impressed.

“I’m uncomfortable in those situations, you know?”

But it wasn’t all negative for the actor, who said he had a ‘nice, intellectual talk’ with cohost Sunny Hostin, 54, following the ’embarrassing’ exchange.

During his Rolling Stone interview, the actor also discussed his lengthy, successful film career, including his worry that one of his biggest blockbusters, Taken, might be a disaster.

It turns out that one of his most well-known sentences once made him blush.

He declared, “If I had a penny for every time somebody mentioned a certain set of skills, I would be rich.” “I remember when we were filming that moment, I urged Pierre Morel to trim it back. This is so cheesy. I feel as if I’ve seen and heard this in so many films.

“I’ve always thought this was a straight-to-video film, but was very surprised when Fox cleverly cut a trailer, showed it at big sporting events, and it became successful when it was released,” said the actor.

“Again, I was a little embarrassed.”
