“I’ve never seen anything like that before!” Em James found a hole in the ground while cutting the grass in front of the house with a tractor. During the day, the hole grew deeper until it was two meters deep. The fact that there were rusty STEPS inside made it even stranger!

The residents found a tunnel in their yard. Authorities think it leads to a canal that was filled in 35 years ago, but the opening is now too small for a man to fit through. When they called the 1984 home builder, they were told that the tunnel did not lead to where the house was. Emma says the following:

“It’s a little strange that there are stairs that go down, but we don’t know where they lead and there’s nothing covering them.” What’s under there is rusty metal and cement. We just need someone to help us figure out what’s wrong; we don’t want to leave such a big hole in our yard. The two wives won’t know for sure until someone checks, even though the local council told them in the end that the tube leads to a drain that has been rum-covered for 30 years.

Even though the government said they would, no one is sending someone to really look into what’s going on with her.They are hoping that someone will fall or that there won’t be another pit. Before they knew what was wrong, they had to put up signs to keep people from falling there, even though they didn’t want to cover it up.
