In the TikTok video that @realjharrison submitted, the pilot welcomes passengers and checks their hearing.

“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen; welcome aboard. I’m Jeff Fell, the aircraft captain for Chicago tonight.

I seldom stand in front of people like this; I generally chat on the PA from the cockpit.

“If I get a little emotional, please forgive me for that.”

The pilot ‘acknowledges a group of highly significant persons’ ‘onboard the airplane’.

“They’re the majority of my family who’ve come along with me on my retirement flight,” he says, interrupted by a tremendous applause.

“After 32 years with American, they’re on my retiring flight. I appreciate your company tonight as I celebrate this special period in my life. I adore you all.”

More wild applause.

Fell continued to honor one last important individual, saying he ‘didn’t want to get emotional.’

He says, “Finally, to my great wife Julie, who has supported me for most of my 32 years at American.

“She’s been our life and marriage rock. Her knowledge, courage, love, and faith in God have served as a guide for our marriage and family.

“I adore you and look forward to our future. Welcome aboard, everyone.”

Similar reactions have been posted online as on the pilot’s final flight.

The user who posted the clip wrote, “Privileged to have been there for this.”

Others soon flocked to the post to wish her luck.

TikToker 2: “Little script. Imagine him sitting there penning it the night before.”

“THE WAY HE TALKS ABOUT HIS WIFE IS SOBBING,” a third said.

A fourth said: “32 years of secure landings. Bless him and all pilots.”
