Karma was spared from a terrible agricultural life.

Karma’s rescuers at the Gentle Barn Sanctuary in California expected her to be happy, but she kept crying.

She was taking her calf to slaughter.

After Karma was rescued, her new owners saw that her udders were full of milk and assumed she had given birth. They wondered why this hadn’t been told to them.

A simple call to the previous farm revealed that her calf had been sold for meat and was sent to a butcher.

The car carrying Karma’s calf broke down, allowing rescuers to reach him before his tragic death.

They had to calm the distressed calf before bringing him to the sanctuary to be with his mother.

The mother and son’s reunion at their new property is nice.
Despite being underweight and terrified, the calf quickly recovers when he sees his mother.
