Freaky Friday stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reconnected 20 years later, frightening many.
Maybe it’s not Friday, but things are getting weird. Freaky because you’ll see this photo of Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, realize their 2003 film came out 20 years ago, and freak out because 2003 was only last year, right? I feel elderly.
However, Curtis and Lohan’s reunion may indicate a widely awaited sequel to Freaky Friday, which was released a long time ago.
Curtis and Lohan played mother and daughter Tess and Anna Coleman in the popular film.
In a humorous turn of events on one Friday, the duo exchange bodies after a furious quarrel and take on each other’s lives.
Freaky Friday is a crowd-pleaser with an 88 percent Tomatoemeter score.
Yesterday (November 11), Curtis posted a photo of herself and Lohan grinning at the camera on Instagram.
The caption says, “Late. You grew up beautifully!
“Friday, the strike is done, so perhaps we can trade places soon! Lindsay Lohan, @Disney”
Curtis later published an identical photo of the couple with a 2003 Freaky Friday shoot photo.
“I adore it when the internet makes me marvel and thrill!” @lindsaylohan @disney” writes the actor.
Social media fans are also excited about the pair’s reunion, wondering whether it means a sequel.
Fans begged for another freaky flick on social media.
One Instagrammer wrote, “PLEASE, WE NEED THIS.”
“Please, please, please! More Freaky Friday, please, “said another.
A third said, “Freaky Friday Two!”
Fourth resolved: “@disney, everyone wants this! Do it!”
In May, the Hollywood Reporter revealed a sequel, perhaps answering fans’ prayers.
Curtis told the New York Times: “As Halloween Ends toured the world, people asked whether Freaky Friday would return.
It struck a chord. I contacted my Disney buddies after returning and remarked, “It feels like there’s a movie to be made.”
Jamie and I are open to it, so we’re leaving it to the powers that be,” Lohan said.
“We would only make something that people would absolutely adore.”
