The Rolling Stones have a new album unless you’ve been living under a rock collecting moss.
You may also have heard that Hackney Diamonds is the Stones’ finest record in 40 years and that A Bigger Bang was their last original album 18 years ago. A Bigger Bang (2005) came out, so I asked my best Rolling Stones fan, Hilton, whether he had heard it. He claimed he did, but it was sad and old.
Blue & Lonesome (2016) got good reviews. An album of blues covers I listened twice and stored it. I wasn’t into Jagger’s vocals. I found it fake. The Stones know this time is different. Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood told Sky News that Lady Gaga recorded in the same studio facility as them. Gaga sang with the Stones previously. Lady Gaga sang Gimme Shelter with the Stones on December 14, 2012, during their 50 and Counting tour. During the tour’s five gigs, Mary J. Blige and Florence Welch sang with Jagger.
